What is FirstDialog™?

FirstDialog™ is an interactive personal branding platform designed to help job applicants stand out from the crowd. It allows users to create rich, interactive, multimedia resumes that showcase their individual personalities and skills. FirstDialog™ is also a professional social network where friends and colleagues help users network effectively and find the right job.

Is this another social network?

Professional networking is an extension of the core features offered by FirstDialog™. You can use features like sharing internal job requirements, industry news, and one-click friend referral, to get the best out of FirstDialog™. However, this does not mean that you have to develop or join a network to use FirstDialog™. If you prefer, FirstDialog™ can be used as a standalone tool for creating powerful personal presentations and sharing with prospective employers.

Is this another jobs board?

No. FirstDialog™ is not a job board. Nor is it not a resume database. Unlike other services, we do not intend to sell your profiles to employers who can then access your resume without your knowledge. FirstDialog™ provides you powerful tools to create an interactive resume, but you can decide how to share it with . We also allow users to customize their privacy settings so that they can control who views their resume. You can make it open or as restrictive as you please.

What can I do with FirstDialog™ Resume?

A lot! With FirstDialog™ you can create a customized web-based resume and enhance your resume with an online video or a multimedia presentation. You can also attach relevant documents and create an online portfolio to showcase your skills. Other features include requesting endorsements and references from your peers/bosses, which you can showcase directly in your resume. Think of FirstDialog™ as a virtual avatar of you sitting in front of a prospective interviewer.

How can I share my FirstDialog™ Resume?

FirstDialog™ offers multiple ways to share your resume so you can choose the method that fits your needs. You can email it directly to the recipient or you can send it through your social networking contact list on Facebook or LinkedIn. You can also place your FirstDialog™ public resume button on your blog or website. Also look for new ways tho share your FirstDialog™ Resume as we work to make FirstDialog™ even more effective and versatile.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely! At FirstDialog™, we take your privacy very seriously. Trust, respect, and integrity are central to our company mission. As a user, you decide what information you want to share, who you want to share it with, and which portions of your resume you want to hide or lock. You can also give conditional access to the person of your choice and you can set automatic lifetime to your resume, after which it will no longer be accessible to the recipient.

How is my information protected?

FirstDialog™ employs industry-leading encryption technology and security best practices to protect your personal information. Our security safeguards and procedures include password-protected login, SSL encryption technology, and firewall protected servers. Your information is protected by your own unique password and stored in a secure database. To further guard against unauthorized access, FirstDialog™ employs a range of procedural safeguards. Before your data leaves your computer for FirstDialog™’s systems, it's encrypted by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology using 128-bit encryption. This is the same technology used by most financial institutions and offers a high level of protection. Your information is stored on servers in FirstDialog™ Data Center, which is heavily shielded against viruses and other intrusions. Is FirstDialog™ free to use?

For now, yes! All the major features like resume creation, video tools, document portfolio, social networking, and salary survey are free for unlimited use. We only charge for advanced services like online tests and credential verification. This is because these are third party services and we have to pay for these services. However, FirstDialog™ still brings you these services at subsidized rates which are not available to non-FirstDialog™ users.

What is a private alpha?

Private Alpha means we are not yet open to general users. We have the product ready for use but we are fine tuning it so that we can provide you best possible product. During this period, we are inviting a limited set of users to try out our platform and provide their valuable feedback.

How can I get invited?

If you have an invite, then you're in luck! You can directly signup for the service.If not, you can still add yourself to the wait list and we will send you an invite as soon as it is available.

How do I give feedback?

We value your feedback, and we want to make sure the final product fits your preferences and needs. Please use the “Feedback” button on the left-hand pane of your browser window to share your suggestions, concerns, or questions on FirstDialog™.

Do I need special software to use FirstDialog™?

No. However, in order to get the best FirstDialog™ experience and make sure that all of the features work correctly, we recommend using a recent browser version such as Internet Explorer 7.0+, Mozilla Firefox 3.0+, or Safari 3.x+.

If you plan to use video, audio clips, photos, and other documents to enhance your resume, then you should have a broadband Internet connection and access to the appropriate tools for creating multimedia files (for instance, a digital camera for uploading photos/video or a scanner for creating a digital version of a paper work sample).
